Are the lighters refillable? How?

YES! :-) All lighters are either refillable with a canister of butane or rechargeable.
They do not come filled.

*Please use BUTANE GAS (eg. Neon brand), not lighter fluid.
1. make sure no open flames are nearby
2. adjust flame height to low setting using flame adjustor. we recommend the middle between + and -
3. bleed the fuel tank by pressing down on the lighter refill valve until hissing stops. try using a bobby pin or qtip.
5. shake the refill can to check for butane gas
6. hold both the refill can and lighter upside down in each hand
7. align refill nozzle w refill valve on the lighter and insert; press firmly, and all the way into the refill valve. if the butane is spilling, it’s not aligned properly.
8. fuel in position for 15-20 seconds.
9. wait until lighter reaches room temp before igniting (5-10 mins)
10. reset flame height from low flame to desired setting

Igniting right after refilling is NOT recommended, as butane gas is very cold and ignition right after refilling can damage the unit. We recommend waiting at least a couple of minutes before re-igniting.

Do not over-fill the chamber. If this happens and some fluid escapes, wipe the lighter dry with a paper towel. Wait ~5 minutes before igniting.

Please remember that they are useable art pieces, and must be handled gently and with caution.
Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Orders are sent via USPS first class and sometimes ups, and are typically shipped out within ~1-2 weeks. Custom portraits take longer. I pack/ship/etc just about everything by myself, so your patience is extremely appreciated! That said, if you need something by a certain date, contact me. Tracking information will be sent to your email.

Please note that clothes and larger paper items are shipped separately from the rest of an order.

returns / exchanges

We do not accept returns or exchanges, so please consider this before placing an order. Returns for items damaged in transit will be made on a case by case basis.
